If you have a sunburn, the damage is already done. But you can ease the discomfort: 1. Take ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) or aspirin as directed for pain relief. 2. Apply cold compresses to the sunburn or take a cool bath. 3. Apply a moisturizing cream or creams containing aloe or hydrocortisone. 4. If blisters form, don't break them. You can lightly cover them with gauze. If these tips don't help or your sunburn is very severe, call your doctor.
