The Wantable Makeup Box.

There is another sample box on the market and this one was made just for us makeup lovers. Sounds great, right? Meet Wantable.

Now, I am admittedly not a fan of sample boxes after trying and comparing beauty sample boxes late last year. Let's take a look at Wantable and see if I have changed my mind.

Wantable Makeup Box Review

When going to website, wantable.com, you can select from different boxes. Currently there is makeup, accessories and intimates. I am obviously going to talk about the makeup box, so you under makeup, you would click on "select box". This will bring you the a page showing this months box. It is a subscription service, in which for $36, you will get a new makeup box each month. You can also just purchase a one-off box for $40.

You next go through a very intensive quiz so the service gets to know you, about your coloring, needs, likes and dislikes. It took me about 10 minutes. I "told" the quiz what colors and formulas I liked to get a very customized box.

The box I received was the August box and it contained 5 full sizes makeup products, plus two samples. The box was curated by expert Matthew Ambrosio and he centered the box around bold eyeliner. In the box was an FACE Stockholm Gel Eyeliner in Brown ($24), a Japonesque Smudger Brush in a travel size, to apply the liner ($14.50), a Michael Marcus Brow Pencil in a Blonde Shade ($24), a FACE Stockholm Blush in a pretty rose shade ($20.00, and a Rainbow Honey Nail Lacquer in Mint Flavor ($10). You can see the value is there. The products separately would cost $92.50. Would I have necessarily bought these items? Now that is the question.

Wantable Makeup Box Review

I really like the eyeliner, blush and smudger brush. As far as the brow pencil goes, I have never heard of Michael Marcus and the brow pencil color was wrong. I must have mentioned that I have blond hair in my profile, but my brows are far from blonde. I have never heard of Rainbow Honey Nail Lacquer either, and for the price, the quality is just not there. Can I justify the $36 for the products I like? Sure. I could have done without the samples though. I am not for trying an eyeshadow on a card and the lip balm seemed a little too homemade for my taste, but all in all it was a very good value. Knowing that each box contains 4-6 full sized items is definitely a plus.

If you are already a fan of beauty sample boxes, I would highly recommend this one for you, as you already know what to expect. But for someone as picky as me, I am still undecided. I really am torn on this one. While I would usually say you would be better off spending your hard earned cash on something you really want, I really liked three of the products that are far worth more than what I would have paid. I think I will need to see a few more boxes to give it a better judgement. I will let you know!

Fall 2013: CHANEL Superstition Makeup Collection.

The new CHANEL Superstition Makeup Collection is in a word - beautiful. With shades of khaki, which can be worn by everyone, and matching pairs for cheeks and lips, this one has me yearning for fall and cooler weather now.

A firm believer in luck, Gabrielle Chanel surrounded herself with her favorite charms and talismans, as much for good fortune as for inspiration. The symbols that warded off superstitious fears now serve as silent muses for an enchanting Fall makeup collection. Sumptuous khaki tones are set off by new ‘lucky charm’ duos: entrancing, shade-matched pairs for cheeks and lips.

Fall 2013: CHANEL Superstition Makeup Collection

I love makeup shades that match, and pairing up cheek and lip colors are genius, especially when you want everyone to look at your eyes. Trust me, with these shades, that is where you want the focus to be, because the quad and shadows (Gri-Gri!) are intoxicating. I can't get enough. I think the pairs provide the perfect balance and help those that have problems when selecting coordinating colors, especially when going for a bolder lip and eye.

CHANEL Superstition Makeup Collection

The collection:

LES 4 OMBRES Quadra Eye Shadow - $59.00
The metallic and khaki shades in this palette are captivating. Like I mentioned above, you want the eyes to take center stage when using a palette like this. The colors are so incredibly beautiful, no matter how you wear them.

Mystere - Golden Khaki, Golden Ivory, Silver Taupe, Matte Khaki

I have been wearing Golden Ivory on my brow bone, Silver Taupe all over my lid with Golden Khaki in the outer crease. Matte Khaki is perfect as a complementary liner.

OMBRE ESSENTIELLE Soft Touch Eyeshadow - $28.50
Eyes are beautiful with these chic powder shadows in soft lavender and luminous taupe. Gri-Gri is going to be one of my all time favorites, I already know. The shimmering taupe shade reflects the light so beautifully. Pair the shades together for a soft, shimmering neutral fall eye.

Gri-Gri - Metallic TaupeHasard - Matte Lavender

LE BLUSH CRÈME DE CHANEL Cream Blush - $38.00
This innovative blush features a powder-cream formula made up of sheer, yet vibrant pigments. The silky texture offers a longwear satin finish that can be applied with fingertips or a brush.

Destiny - Golden BeigePresage - ApricotRevelation - Soft-shimmering PinkInspiration - Soft Blue PinkAffinite - Intense Blue PinkFantastic - Burgundy

STYLO YEUX WATERPROOF Long-Lasting Eyeliner - $30.00
This smudge-proof bronze khaki eye pencil looks beautiful with the quad as well. It offers a slight bit of metallic to it, but nothing too overpowering. I love how it lasts all day with no smudging.

Khaki Precieux - Khaki with Bronze Tint

LE VOLUME DE CHANEL Mascara - $30.00
Lashes go bold while finishing the khaki look with this bronzed shade of khaki. I like using it with the liner, but over a base of black.

Khaki Bronze - Khaki with Bronze Tint

Soft shades of pink pair beautifully with their creme blush counterparts. Pink looks unexpectedly gorgeous with khaki. It is not a color I would have thought to pair up. You can see how beautiful in the CHANEL beauty image above.

Secret - Soft Shimmering PinkInstinct - Soft Blue Pink

ROUGE COCO SHINE Hydrating Colour Lipshine - $34.00
In deep pink and burgundy, lips take on an intense new glow to create a similar attention grabbing look to the eyes. I like these with the Gri-Gri and Hasard shades best.

Makeup Wars: My Must Have Hair Tools.

I am obsessed with a great blowout. If I could have a professional blowout everyday, I would be one happy gal - with great hair. Seriously? Don't you feel better when you're rocking a beautiful bouncy blowout? Luckily, I have learned to do my own blowout at home. The key to the perfect blowout is the right tools and products.

For products, I like a product that initially smoothes my hair, as in defrizz and seals the cuticle to prevent it from fizzing in the first place. I use the original Moroccanoil Treatment for that. I also like a volumizing mousse, because I like a lot of volume and need the extra hold it gives. My current mousse of choice is Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse. Finally, I need a hairspray to hold my style in place, and I only use L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray (unscented) for this finishing touch.

For tools, I need a great hair dryer and brush. The best hair dryer I have ever tried is from the famed blow dry bar, Drybar. They only do blowouts, so I trust that their tools are the best.

Must Have Hair Tools and How to Get the Perfect DIY Blowout

I use the bright yellow Buttercup Blow Dryer. This professional hair dryer has a powerful 1875 watts of power that is surprisingly quiet. It delivers a powerful airflow while being gentle on hair. It has three temperature settings, two speed settings, a self-locking Cool Shot button, and a narrow concentrator for fast styling. It is super lightweight, so my arms never get tired. My hair is dry faster with this dryer than any I have ever tested as well.

Along with the dryer, I depend on the Full Pint Medium Round Brush. This helps to smooth my hair while adding in big soft curls.

To aid in drying my hair in sections, I use the Drybars Hold Me Clips. These have a self-locking system that allows for large sectioning. They grip the hair gently, so I never experience pulling.

To do a great blowout at home, work in small sections. This is where the clips are essential. I usually work with seven or eight sections, but only clip off four sections at a time, on each side of my head. I dry each section at a time. I hold my hair taut with the brush making sure I point the dryer nozzle down toward the hair to seal in the cuticle. Once the section is dried, I wrap the ends around the round brush and again, pointing the nozzle down, add extra heat to the the section I am curling for about 10 seconds and then hit the cool button for about 30 seconds to lock in the curl. I move to the next section until my hair is completely dry. After all the clips are out, I curl back a few of the pieces that need more curl, again using the round brush and a quick heat/cool blow. When finished, I usually flip my head over and spray with my favorite hair spray and then flip back upright. I then just use my hands to separate some pieces and then make sure every hair is in place before I give it another mist of hairspray.

This is me after about a ten minute DIY blow out session with the Buttercup, Full Pint Brush and Hair Clips.

The hair dryer and clips can be purchased from QVC in their Drybar Blowout In-a-Box kit for $169.00. It also contains two different nozzles and an extra filter.

The Full Pint Medium Round Brush can be purchased at Sephora for $40.00.
