NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation.

If you are a fan of the NARS complexion products, listen up. They have a beautiful new foundation and this is a good one. Meet NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation.

I am already a regular user of NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. The new Radiant Cream Compact Foundation takes the line in the direction of a more coverage product. It fills the gap in the radiant line. Who doesn't want more radiant skin and to get that with more coverage is like a dream.

The creamy foundation comes in a closeable compact of color that can pop into a larger compact, which is sold separately. It is very creamy looking, and creamy feeling as it is applied to the skin. It is very lightweight though and feels as if I am wearing a very lightweight, breathable liquid foundation offering the heavier coverage I need. I actually like to dampen the sponge and apply the color all over my face and I get a beautiful medium coverage. In areas like my forehead where I am showing a bit of hyperpigmentation, I use the sponge dry and get even more coverage. Using either wet or dry, the foundation sets to a beautiful finish in just seconds.

As I mentioned, the compact refill is closeable and it must stay snapped shut to keep the formula in tact. Even if it is popped into the larger compact, closing after use is vital.

I like that the range is full of 20 shades to match a variety of skintones. I am using Stromboli and that is the same shade that I use in the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation.

The shades from lightest to darkest:

Siberia - light with neutral balance of pink and yellow undertonesMont Blanc - light with pink undertoneGobi - for Asian skin, light with yellow undertoneDeauville - light with neutral balance of pink and yellow undertonesFiji - light with yellow undertoneCeylan - for Asian skin, light-medium with yellow undertonePunjab - medium with golden, peachy undertoneVallauris - medium with pink undertone (this is a new shade for NARS)Santa Fe - medium with peachy undertoneStromboli - medium with olive undertoneBarcelona - deeper medium with golden, peachy undertoneSyracuse - medium-dark with brown undertoneTahoe - medium-dark with caramel undertoneCadiz - medium-dark with caramel and red undertoneMacao - Medium-dark with deep yellow undertoneNew Guinea - Dark with red undertoneTrinidad - dark with warm, yellow undertoneNew Orleans - dark with yellow undertoneBenares - dark with golden undertoneKhartoum - dark with espresso undertone

NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation is available right now at NARS flagship boutiques and online at narscosmetics.com. The Foundation refills compact sells for $38.00 and the larger compact sells for $10.00. It will appear on department store counters September 1. I did see it in my local Sephora store already.

Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream.

I am serious about my skin care. It has taken me a long time to learn that I need to use products that do much more than just keep skin hydrated. I need my skin care products to take a multi-pronged approach and target all my signs of aging. On top of that, I don't want to wait months to see if a product is working for me. And the fact that I get to test a lot of products, I really need them to work quickly or I'll move onto the next. Well, I started using the newer Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream two weeks ago and I know I'll be keeping this one in my regimen for some time.

Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream

Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream was formulated with chemists that took this multi-pronged approach to aging and made this cream target multiple key signs of aging. With Kiehl’s cutting edge formula and their proprietary Tri-Active Technology, this cream clinically demonstrated to simultaneously lift, firm, visibly redefine and retexturize skin in - get this - just two weeks. And those results double in four weeks.

The secret is the combination of Jasmonic Acid, Beech Tree Extract and Fragmented Hyaluronic Acid blended together. Alone, each of these ingredients do things like plump, hydrate, even, and retexturize the skin. Together they did these all, but performed better, and faster then even thought.

Like I said, I've been using Super Super Multi-Corrective Cream for just two weeks, every night. The cream is a thick, almost gel-like cream that instantly absorbs into my skin. It has a strong scent, which I am guessing is from the Beech Tree Extract, but it fades in a few minutes. My skin is more radiant and even in texture in tone. My skin looks and feels more firm. I can't wait to see if it does get better in four weeks, and the longer I use it.

Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream is available now for $62.00 wherever Kiehl's is sold, including kiehls.com.

Mario Badescu Peptide Renewal Serum & Cream.

My number one skin care concern right now is aging, and everything that comes with it. I have sun damage and I am not getting any younger. I am concerned about my skin and do what I can do make it look as young as it can. Well, without turning to injections, botox, or plastic surgery. Though I am considering some botox. Soon.

In searching for some new skin care to try, I discovered this new Peptide Renewal Serum and Peptide Renewal Cream from Mario Badescu. After discovering how much I like their products last year, I couldn't wait to try this new age fighting duo.

Mario Badescu Peptide Renewal Serum & Cream

This cream and serum combine peptides with youth-boosting botanicals to recover a firmer, contoured, more youthful appearance. I like the sound of that. They treat all those signs of aging skin that I am battling - wrinkles, sagging, uneven texture, and lack of hydration.

I have been applying both the serum and cream at night. I use a few drops of the Peptide Renewal serum and rub it over my skin and let it absorb. I follow that with the Peptide Renewal Cream. This cream is really thick and it was meant for those of us with very dry and mature skin. I am liking the way my skin is feeling with this combination. Of course it feels nice and hydrated as soon as I apply it, but I don't feel as though my skin gets as dry as it has been during the day since using. I also feel like I just look better when I wake up. I haven't used it long enough to pinpoint everything it does, but just the notice in feel and better hydration alone is enough for me to continue and keep it in my routine.

Mario Badescu Peptide Renewal Serum retails for $45, and the Peptide Renewal Cream retails for $35.00. They are available at Nordstrom and at mariobadescu.com now.
